We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support a major energy organisation with the delivery of a defined portfolio of projects across their New Zealand operations. Based in Christchurch, this role will provide both on‑site and remote support to projects nationwide and will involve periodic travel to operational locations throughout NZ.

Operating in a Project Engineer / Project Manager capacity, you will work closely with the wider Engineering team to deliver multiple projects scheduled through 2026–2029. You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from early concept development through to successful commissioning and handover. Given the geographic spread of work, demonstrated experience managing projects remotely is essential.

This role requires prior Oil & Gas experience within a large or international organisation, with a strong understanding of structured project management frameworks, controls, and safety systems common to highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned projects from concept through to completion and handover
• Apply company project management frameworks and small project governance processes
• Ensure full compliance with OIMS, CIMS, H, PQMS and associated company standards
• Deliver projects safely, with a strong focus on injury‑free, incident‑free, and environmentally responsible outcomes
• Identify, report and manage near‑misses, losses, and control irregularities
• Maintain high standards of business ethics, governance, and reporting

About you

This role will be in a fixed term capacity for an initial duration of 3 years from the start date, and the successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 40 hours a week but with the willingness to work overtime when required.
