About the role

Opihi College is seeking a caring, confident Y7–8 homeroom teacher for a 12-month fixed‑term role starting term 1, 2026.

You’ll teach a broad Y7–8 programme, and help students build the confidence and readiness they need before stepping into secondary learning.

This role would suit a primary teacher ready to step into the upper‑middle years, or someone who enjoys working with early adolescents. You’ll support core learning, take on elements of structured literacy or numeracy, and create a calm, settled environment built on strong relationships.
