Job descriptionFocused, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The two wider roles will each have a major focus on Consents processes and the other policy, submissions and interests of the Integrated Catchment Management directorate of the Council. Be a leader in resource management, with full proficiency in preparing resource consent applications and familiarity with regional and national planning documents. Have a strong customer focus and proven ability to achieve practical timely outcomes. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Have proven success at building strong positive relationships and resolving issues. Work well in a team and enjoy sharing your knowledge to mentor and train staff. Be willing to step up and support the Team Leader with projects and leadership. Tertiary qualification in science, resource management, planning or related field. Minimum 5 years’ experience in resource management. x2 roles available. As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will be required to :
- Project manage or prepare complex and potentially contentious resource consent applications.
- Provide information and expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Occasionally prepare and present evidence at consent hearings and contribute to Environment Court processes including mediation and caucusing.
- Review work from peers, mentor staff and take the lead on team projects.
- Contribute to policy development and strategic direction.
- Build positive relationships throughout the Council, resource users, community groups and Iwi.
