Senior Scientist (Estuarine and Coastal Ecology)
ROLE DESCRIPTION : ESTUARINE AND COASTAL ECOLOGIST
Title : Senior Scientist
Location : Remote position.
Hours of work : 20-40 hours per week flexi-time.
Position status : One-year fixed term (maternity leave cover) starting early 2026, with the potential to transition into a long-term role.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced ecologist with a multidisciplinary background to join our team to develop, manage and undertake estuary and coastal projects. Our projects cover diverse areas including ecological impact assessments for resource consent applications, restoration planning and advice, State of Environment monitoring, marine biosecurity, and expert technical review and / or management advice to support the natural environment. This is initially a one-year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, with potential to transition into a long-term permanent role for the right candidate.
