Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

The Financial Control team keeps BNZ safe by providing accurate and timely reporting and insights, while driving and promoting an effective control environment. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Financial and Regulatory Reporting team, based in Auckland.

In this role you will be undertaking financial and management accounting and compliance tasks, in relation to the Banking Group's external financial and regulatory reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation, review, detailed analysis and reporting of BNZ's semi‑annual Disclosure Statements, and regulatory and statistical returns.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislative and accounting standard requirements.
• Promoting an effective financial control and reconciliation environment by ensuring that appropriate financial controls are in place, documented and operating effectively.
• Assessing the impact of change, and implementing improvement opportunities, on statutory and regulatory reporting.
