The Money Laundering Team (MLT) is part of the Police Financial Crime Group.

The role of MLT is to investigate money laundering targets and their enablers operating within New Zealand.

MLT also provides specialist support to the National Organized Crime Group (NOCG), Police Districts and external partners to assist them with high-profile international and domestic investigations.

Due to a recent expansion, MLT is seeking a Senior Intelligence Analyst to join the team.

Working as part of a dedicated, mixed-capability team, the Senior Intelligence Analyst will support the targeting and profiling of Money Laundering offenders and their enablers, provide strategic and operational support to investigations, and provide mentoring and upskilling of more junior Intelligence staff within MLT.

Key Accountabilities :

Proactively identify and analyse emerging or escalating trends in Money Laundering typologies.

Contribute to core intelligence reporting and deliverables of the Team.

Develop and maintain a strong network of professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop a high standard of written reports and presentations and provide clear and concise verbal briefings to a range of audiences.

Work with limited supervision on complex analytical problems.

Provide technical guidance in Intelligence analysis tools and coach junior members of the team to develop their Intelligence tradecraft.

To be successful in this role you will :

Provide input into a range of intelligence plans, activities, and outputs.

Use analytical thinking and problem-solving techniques to identify patterns of offending and provide insight and foresight on wide-ranging and complex subject matter.

Champion diverse worldviews, different perspectives, and identify opportunities to reflect these in Intelligence products.

Identify training and development requirements and opportunities that benefit the wider intelligence team.

Assess detailed information and produce clear and concise written documentation

Have experience in analysing data sources using applications such as Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools.

This role is based in the Auckland area.

Some local travel may be required.

Hold the NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (NZDIA) or equivalent or able to complete NZDIA modules early in employment.

Current CPK at the rank of the vacancy you are applying for (Constabulary only).

Have qualified under CEP or a previous Career Progression Framework at the level you are applying for.

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is :

NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last

years, or :

A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last

10

years, or

A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries

for the last 10

years

: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $108,894 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
