Finance Manager

As our Finance Manager , you will manage and oversee the day-to-day finance functions for the business, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and accessibility to information to support business decisions. You will be able to provide Finance advice to non-financial people in a language that is understandable to them, and you will be versed in working and managing staff in a SME, where people need to wear many hats and have a healthy balance between compliance & rigour, and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting functions : AP / AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, GST, and depreciation.
• Maintain financial systems, policies, and procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
• Support staff with finance queries and promote financial literacy across the business.
• Prepare monthly reports, forecasts, and financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Monitor KPIs, assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain fixed asset register and support accurate year-end processes, payroll, and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with NZ tax laws, reporting standards, and statutory filings.
• Liaise with external accountants, insurers, and banks; manage financial risks.
• Maintain user access controls and stay current with legislation and best practices.
