Editor Wanted with Deep Aversion to Gibberish, Wordage, and Prolixity
Words : you gotta love 'em. But the pesky things do have a habit of getting away from you when for a moment one Wednesday afternoon spent casually typing you are distracted and while pondering the shaky Auckland house market and your team's woeful performance at the weekend that beautifully crisp sentence you would have gleefully shown your Aunt Mabel who has just turned 78 mushroomed into a party-crushing monster that even Aristotle would give up reading.
Nevertheless (which is considerably underused as a word), if you are a personage of the pen, an editor-at-largesse, a wordsmith, who wants to make a difference and who loves crafting great copy, this job could be your happy place.
Here's the company bit : Writer’s Toolbox is a multi-award-winning Education Technology company, delivering writing improvement programmes using SaaS delivery to over 700 schools globally and proven to achieve more than double national writing outcomes. With teams across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, Toolbox has an established programme that is gaining international reputation for its ability to deliver education transformation at scale using cutting‑edge AI.
Here's the you bit : We have a role for a top class senior editor. You will be listened to. Your skills with communication, copy, style, impact are wanted. And valued. You’ll be the guardian of content quality, voice, and instructional clarity across the entire organisation. If a word is published—article, think piece, academic paper, a marketing email, teacher training resource—it will have passed your desk.
This means your input over strategy, direction, copy will be heard, respected, and cheered. It also means you get to spend all day making great copy even better.
