About the role

We're seeking a skilled and motivated Technical Operations Lead to join our Venues & Events team, in this full time permnanent position.

Based across Whanganui's iconic venues - the Royal Whanganui Opera House, War Memorial Centre, and Cooks Gardens Events Centre - you'll be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of technical operations. From staging and lighting to sound, rigging, and production management, this role ensures our events run smoothly and to the highest standard.

You’ll manage a team of technicians and contractors, work directly with promoters, hirers, and community groups, and oversee the planning and delivery of technical production requirements. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll balance leadership, planning, and technical delivery - helping us create unforgettable experiences for the Whanganui community and visitors alike.
