You'll work with experienced technicians and sometimes on your own in the field, depending on the workload.

Key tasks include :
Operating, maintaining, and servicing wastewater systems.
Relay information to site and from the site back to management.
Report on the systems via basic job management systems.
Scheduled servicing of wastewater systems.
Accompany senior technicians and engineers to resolve complex wastewater problems together.
Procure materials as and when needed to maintain operations.
Form and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
Attend urgent callouts, trouble shoot, fault find, and solve technical problems in the field.
Read drawings, create asbuilts, and interpret technical information.
Developing BOMs and ordering materials.
Assign the co-ordination of day-today operations.
Developing proforma and other documentation.
Trouble shooting, fault finding, and solving technical problems in the field.
Take wastewater samples from systems and deliver samples to the Watercare laboratory.
Interpret sample results and make adjustments to wastewater systems to improve.
Provide measured data, photos, and field notes for engineering assessments.
Compile reports, proformas, and other documentation relating to wastewater treatment and disposal operations.
Our ideal candidate will have / be :
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A tertiary qualification that is equivalent to a New Zealand Diploma (NZQF level 4 or higher) in civil engineering and / or wastewater treatment.
A demonstrated understanding of wastewater treatment and disposal systems
Proficient use of Microsoft Office and job management systems; ability to learn industry-specific software.
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
Able to work with wastewater.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a field-based environment.
Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and creating as-built documentation.
Knowledge of health and safety practices in wastewater operations.
Minimum 40 hours per week.
