Pou Whakamana represents a step-change in iwi-led economic development — redesigning how prosperity flows to whana through values-led procurement, financial empowerment, and business support.

Nga Kowirang | The opportunities
We are seeking two passionate, skilled individuals to help deliver this kaupapa :
Principal Advisor – Iwi Business Services (#119)
A senior role for an experienced project and programme leader who can turn strategy into delivery.
You'll work alongside the GM Iwi Business Services to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives that drive systemic change across the Toa Economy — including :
A financial empowerment platform enabling whana to grow intergenerational wealth; and
A kaupapa Maori procurement framework redirecting regional spend into whana-led enterprise.
You'll bring strong project management expertise, experience working in or with Maori organisations, and the ability to lead through influence, collaboration, and kaupapa.
Advisor – Iwi Business Services (#120)
An early-career opportunity for someone organised, curious, and eager to grow.
You'll be the coordination backbone of the Pou Whakamana team — managing project milestones, supporting wananga and reporting, and engaging with whana, partners, and stakeholders.
Working in a tuakana-teina structure, you'll receive mentoring and development to grow your capability in project management, procurement, and kaupapa Maori approaches while contributing to meaningful, high-impact mahi.
