Transport Coordinator, Wellington

LSG SkyChefs New Zealand Ltd is a large international airline catering business. In New Zealand we have facilities at theairports in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown and we servicethe majority of airlines operating in New Zealand.

We arelooking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join our Wellingtonteam as Transport Coordinator. This is afull-time permanent position reporting to the Senior Transport Coordinator.

TheTransport Coordinator is responsible for all delivery activities in ourbusiness including supervising the day-to-day work of transport drivers andguiders who deliver our products to the aircraft. You will be :

• rosteringstaff to meet workload and budget;
• allocatingstaff to tasks throughout the day;
• coordinatingwith other departments to ensure products are ready for delivery;
• coordinatingwith the airlines to manage any schedule or product changes;
• ensuringcompliance with internal, airport, and customer processes;
• maintaininghealth and safety and vehicle safety processes;
• carryingout training and performance checks for all transport staff;
• ensuringfood safety and food quality standards are maintained for products under yourcontrol.

Theposition works to a roster that covers seven days a week. The roster rotates to allow for changing daysoff. The roster may change seasonallybut typically is for an 8-hour day, five days a week. The position is guaranteed 80 hours afortnight.

Applicantswill ideally have a tertiary qualification in supervision or management atlevel 5 (diploma) or higher. They willhave at least two years’ experience in a similar business where on-timedelivery in a highly regulated industry is critical. The candidate will have well-developedEnglish language skills in both verbal and written formats as there is frequentradio and phone communication and regular report writing.

Allcandidates will required to complete a criminal convictions check. Prior or pending convictions for dishonesty,drug or alcohol, violence, or driving offences will exclude any candidate fromselection.

Thecandidate will be able to lift up to 20 kg, and hold a Class 2 driver licenseand operate a manual gearbox heavy vehicle as you may have to drive airsideoccasionally.

This roleis salaried in a range between $72,000 and $75,000 per annum. Overtime may berequired and is paid at the rate equal to (salary / 2080).
