Health and Safety Advisor

Grada Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join a winning team in Auckland. This is a highly field-based role, focused on providing a strong, visible presence across multiple large-scale civil projects.

The Role

You will be the key H&S presence on-site, championing a proactive safety culture across multiple projects. You will be responsible for providing your technical knowledge to the field staff, conducting site inspections and audits, engaging with subcontractors, and running toolbox talks. This role involves monitoring compliance, identifying hazards, and cultivating a productive and safe working environment, all while being mentored by a senior H&S team with the aim of growing you into a leadership position.

The Ideal Candidate

• 3+ years of experience as an H&S Advisor, preferably within the NZ Civil contracting sector
• A tertiary qualification in Health & Safety (or a related field)
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, both written and verbal
• A proactive attitude, comfortable being highly visible and engaging teams on site
• Strong understanding of NZ H&S legislation and construction standards
