This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance manager with broad operational experience to join our client, Hawkeswood Civil working circa 30 hours per week. The position is located in Brookby, East Auckland.
This career move offers plenty of scope and growth working within a smaller team, where making informed decisions with a reasonable level of autonomy is needed. Ideally you will have a CA qualification or experience in an SME preferably in construction or resources businesses. You’ll have a strong bias for action and be able to get up to speed quickly with the monthly financial cycle, establish your routine of deliverables and build relationships within the business.
For someone with initiative and capability, there is future scope to step up the level of leadership in the day-to-day running of operational and administration aspects of the business, supporting staff and directly impacting the business effectiveness and success, all within a dynamic work environment.

Skills, Experience & Attributes
We need someone with a "can do" attitude who takes pride in what they do and the following experience and competencies :
10+ years in finance or accounting roles with a focus on financial roles with a focus on processes and compliance, ideally underpinned by a bachelor’s degree in a related field. CA or CPA would be advantageous
Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate a team and to build trust and professional relationships both internally and with suppliers through effective communication
Commercial acumen and good legislative knowledge in employment, finance and health and safety areas with the ability to apply this in an operational setting
Proactive engagement in cross-business operations to gain valuable insights into opportunities and risks and put practical plans in place to leverage or mitigate these
