About the Role

We're looking for a Maori Capability Lead to drive initiatives that uplift cultural capability and embed tikanga Maori.

You'll lead the design and development of learning solutions in alignment with the Maori strategy, partnering with leaders and kaimahi to build confidence in applying te ao Maori, tikanga Maori and matauranga Maori in everyday work.

As The Maori Capability Lead, You Will

Deliver Maori capability programmes aligned with Te Tiriti commitments

Design learning solutions and pathways in support of te reo Maori and tikanga uplift

Partner with leaders and teams to embed kaupapa Maori in everyday work

Strengthen engagement with iwi, Maori organisations and partners

Support powhiri, whakatau and other te ao Maori elements for events and forums

Create a safe, supportive environment for cultural learning

About You

You're a culturally confident leader and educator, passionate about growing others and driving meaningful change.

You bring the experience, foresight and influence to deliver learning that embeds Te Ao Maori into workplace culture.

Strong knowledge of te reo, tikanga Maori and Te Tiriti principles

Experience leading Maori capability, learning or education programmes

Excellent relationship management, communication and influencing skills

Ngakau Maori, ngakau mahaki, brings a humble and authentic approach

Comfortable walking in both te ao Maori and te ao PakehaEnergetic and collaborative, able to uplift and motivate others

Relevant qualification or experience in te reo Maori, te ao Maori, or Learning and Development

This role offers scope to design and implement change while bringing your passion for kaupapa Maori to the forefront.
