Health & Safety Business Partner

Overview

Te Ratonga Whakahaere Paenga – Facilities Management at University of Canterbury (UC).

Location : Otautahi, Christchurch, New Zealand.

Full-time (37.5 h per week), permanent role.

Responsibilities

Implement Health and Safety practices in a large complex organisation.

Interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

Lead and manage improvement projects, preferably using formal project methodology.

Deploy HOP / Learning Team / Safety II principles.

Develop health, safety and risk frameworks and integrate sustainable practices with business strategy.

Co-coach and mentor senior leadership, challenging their thinking and supporting capability building.

Collaborate with stakeholders across UC to provide advice and support across portfolios.

Champion continuous improvement and enhanced risk-management practices.

Qualifications

Significant experience leading and implementing Health and Safety practice in a large complex organisation.

Human-centric approach with ability to build professional relationships and inspire confidence.

Degree, Graduate Diploma in Health and Safety or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

NZISM or HASANZ accreditation (or relevant professional experience).
