The Glenview School Board of Trustees is seeking a learning support coordinator.

Learning support coordinator – key responsibilities and attributes

Work alongside students with diverse learning and behavioural needs to ensure their academic, social, and emotional goals are met in partnership with whanau.

Take a positive, proactive approach when engaging with whanau and external support agencies to build strong, trusting relationships.

Administer and coordinate the IEP (individual education plan) process, including documentation, collaboration, review meetings, and follow-up actions.

Support teachers with planning, differentiation, and resourcing to effectively meet the needs of students requiring additional support.

Collaborate closely with the SENCO, leadership team, and classroom teachers to ensure a coordinated approach to learning support across the school.

Monitor and track student progress, using data and evidence to inform next steps and report on outcomes.

Contribute to professional learning for staff in inclusive practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.

(Optional but valued in many schools.)

Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and strong teamwork skills within a collaborative and supportive environment.

Bring proven strengths and experience in liaising with external agencies (e.g., RTLB, Ministry of Education specialists, health professionals).

BSLA training (Better Start literacy approach) is an advantage.
