Junior Project Manager – UINZ Group

UINZ Group is growing, and we’re looking for a motivated Junior Project Manager to support our Project Managers and Construction Manager across a range of civil, trenchless, and infrastructure projects in the Canterbury region.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction or engineering career who wants to step up, take ownership, and grow into a senior role over time.

About the Role

As a Junior Project Manager, you’ll be involved in the full project lifecycle, helping ensure our projects — including open-cut and trenchless operations — are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You’ll work closely with our senior team, gaining hands‑on experience across programme management, cost control, QA, and client communication.

Your responsibilities will include :

Assisting with planning and managing construction and trenchless programmes
Tracking progress and updating schedules
Identifying and managing design changes
Supporting site and trenchless crews with documentation and reporting
Overseeing QA processes and ensuring compliance
Helping maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Contributing to safety, quality, and environmental standards across all projects

What We’re Looking For

A keen interest in civil construction, trenchless work, and project delivery

Tertiary qualification in construction management, engineering, or similar (preferred but not essential)

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Good communicator and a proactive team player

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Basic understanding of project planning, drawings, and site processes

A willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team
