Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital represents a fast developing private healthcare campus on Auckland's North Shore. One of four Southern Cross wholly owned hospital sites in the Auckland region, the North Harbour campus includes the only private surgical in‑patient hospital on the North Shore. Within our campus is the Northern Clinic which is home to a range of specialist consulting suites and treatment centres including endoscopy, cardiology services, cancer care, sports medicine and radiology.
We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetic Technician 2IC to join our Theatre Services team in a leadership capacity. This role is 0.9‑1.0 FTE and offers the perfect balance of hands‑on clinical practice and team coordination, making it ideal for someone ready to step up and make a real impact.
Responsibilities
As the Anaesthetic Technician 2IC, you will work closely with the Anaesthetic Team Leader to ensure the smooth running of daily operations within the anaesthetic care service. You’ll provide skilled assistance to Anaesthetists during procedures, ensuring patient safety and high‑quality care at all times. Your leadership will be critical in guiding a team of Anaesthetic Technicians and RN Anaesthetic Assistants, fostering collaboration and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
This position involves mentoring and coaching team members, supporting professional development, and leading in complex situations and emergencies. You will also contribute to operational efficiency through rostering, resource management, and cost control, while playing an active role in quality improvement initiatives and risk management processes.
