Sinead Boucher, an exemplary leader in media and a captivating speaker, brings a wealth of experience and insight to any major event or conference.

Appointed CEO of Stuff in August 2017, Sinead has over two decades of experience in media both in New Zealand and internationally. Before becoming CEO, she served as the NZ Group Executive Editor, overseeing New Zealand's largest newsroom. Under her leadership, Stuff's array of newspapers, magazines, and the top news site, Stuff.co.nz, reached record audience numbers and was recognised as New Zealand's most influential publishing brand.

Sinead began her career as a reporter for The Press and gained international experience in London, working as a digital journalist for the Financial Times site and as a correspondent for Reuters’ London bureau. She was also Stuff’s first digital editor, playing a pivotal role in growing the young Stuff site into New Zealand's largest digital brand. Her contributions to media and gender diversity were acknowledged when she won Fairfax’s internal Woman of Influence Award in 2015 and the prestigious 2012 Wolfson Fellowship prize.

In 2023, Sinead transitioned from her role as CEO to become the executive chair of Stuff, focusing on the strategic future of the business. This change is part of a significant restructure under her leadership, which includes the creation of three new online publications and the increased use of paywalls. Sinead's vision for Stuff involves adapting to the digital era's disruptive forces, such as new generative AI technologies. This strategic pivot includes a major overhaul in leadership, reflecting her commitment to innovation and sustainability in the digital media landscape.
