Position Title : Pathways Coordinator

Location : Bay of Plenty

Reporting to : Head of Partnerships and Pathways

Team : Partnerships & Pathways

Remuneration : $56,000 - $74,600 (Fixed remuneration excluding KiwiSaver)

The Pathways Coordinator supports the effective delivery of pathway initiatives that connect schools, kura, communities, and education providers. This role facilitates stakeholder engagement, manages funding and reporting requirements, and enables seamless transitions for rangatahi into tertiary education. Through collaborative planning and data-informed decision-making, the coordinator will ensure akonga are well-supported and opportunities for engagement and success are maximised.

Academic Delivery and Development

Academic Delivery and Development is our core teaching and learning function through which we develop and educate at Toi Ohomai. This directorate leads the strategic development and delivery of programmes, fosters kaiako capability, leads innovation within the ako digital ecosystem, leads rangahau and research, and enables strategic growth through provision planning and pathway development ensuring our mix of provision meets the evolving workforce needs of our region. Through strengthened partnerships across the organisation, the directorate supports continuous improvement, agile delivery models, and data-informed decision-making. With a focus on collaboration, efficiency, and innovation, the directorate plays a vital role in shaping future-ready learning experiences that enables both akonga and kaiako to thrive.

Nga mahi | Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver pathway programmes such as Trades Academy, STAR, Gateway, and Youth Guarantee.
  • Build strong relationships with schools, kura, and community organisations.
  • Monitor and report on youth engagement and pathway activities.
  • Support rangatahi transitions into tertiary education through planning and collaboration.
  • Develop communication tools to enhance stakeholder engagement and promote pathway opportunities.

You bring :

  • A New Zealand Diploma (Level 5) or equivalent experience in education support or administration.
  • Experience in coordination or administrative roles, ideally in tertiary education.
  • Knowledge of academic administration and inclusive practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools.
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to Maori success.
  • Ability to support te reo Maori, tikanga, and matauranga Maori in the workplace.
  • A passion for equity and supporting diverse learners.
