Job descriptionWeekly 2x 1-2h meetings with the management team for reporting, feedback, and goal-setting – all other hours are yours to set. Client Acquisition & Engagement – spearhead outbound and direct sales, turning leads into contracts. Public Tenders – spot opportunities with local councils, ministries and other public bodies, collaborate with the team to draft and submit competitive proposals. Strategic Partnerships – build relationships with lenders, developers and other private sector partners that can bring new business or joint‑venture possibilities. A proactive, results‑driven professional with sales experience (construction sales a plus but not mandatory). Comfortable with CRM systems, office software and basic computer troubleshooting. Excellent written and verbal communication, courteous and respectful in all interactions. Open‑mind to AI‑enabled workflows – training will be provided. Competitive commission structure that scales with your success. Regular training and access to cutting‑edge AI tools. Flexible, self‑paced work schedule – only 2-4h of weekly management meetings. We’re a data‑driven project management and quantity surveying company in Hawke’s Bay, helping New Zealand’s construction, property development and infrastructure projects unlock value through efficient project execution, AI, analytics and best‑practice governance.
Role Overview
As a Business Development Representative you will own the growth side of our Growth & Enablement division. You’ll identify new opportunities, engage prospects and help move proposals from concept to signed contract.
- You’ll work fully remotely; if you live in Hawke’s Bay you’ll also have the chance to meet clients face‑to‑face.
- This is a contract position.
You’ll receive a contract retainer plus a performance‑based commission that rewards every successful deal you close.
What You’ll Do
You’ll use NZCG’s full digital stack – AI tools, CRM, email, and a virtual machine that houses all software, so a simple laptop with a stable internet connection is enough to get started.
