We are looking for a Clinical Social Worker to join our cohesive, client focused, multi-disciplinary team on a fixed term, part-time, 0.9FTE basis covering parental leave until 12th January
About You
You will need to be passionate about supporting young people from
Having some understanding of Early Intervention in Psychosis will be an advantage as this client group requires more intensive engagement and assertive outreach than the general population.
Totara House has a high number of Maori clients, so the successful applicant will need to work in a way that is sensitive to the needs of Maori and work in close conjunction with the Pukenga Atawhai.
These are busy roles, so you'll need to be a great communicator and well organised, yet flexible enough to work within an ever-changing environment.
Your ability to problem solve will serve you well.
Ideally you will also have some experience in drug and alcohol work but this is not essential.
Skills and experience
Registered Social Worker.
Being a DAO for the Mental Health Act or willing to undertake training to become a DAO.
Some understanding and interest in Early Intervention in Psychosis : A solid grasp of Early Intervention principles will be an advantage, but education and training will be provided.
Cultural Competence : An appreciation for Maori culture and a willingness to collaborate closely with the Pukenga Atawhai are essential.
Strong Communication : Excellent communication skills are vital for successful engagement with both clients and the team.
Problem-Solving : Your ability to think on your feet and find innovative solutions will be highly valued.
Passion for Empowerment : Your dedication to helping young individuals regain control of their lives is at the heart of what we do.
