Te Whare Ako is a dedicated learning space within our school that is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with disabilities. We pride ourselves on our culturally responsive approach and our strong community connections.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced lead teacher to join our team at Te Whare Ako. This role is varied and interesting, offering the opportunity to work in cooperation with teachers across different classroom environments to meet a variety of learning needs. The successful candidate will lead the Te Whare Ako programme, ensuring students receive high-quality education both within our specialist setting and in the wider college community.
We seek a highly skilled, deeply compassionate and fully committed leader with a passion for equity, inclusion, and whānau-centric design. This leader will treat all ākonga, kaiako and whānau with respect and dignity, and will use the expertise of our families and whānau to design a curriculum which will see young people at the ‘heartbeat’ of the school and not tucked away out of sight. The leader will also be mindful and active regarding the need for important transitions and lifelong learning outside the school boundaries.
