We are expanding our Queenstown Lakes site and looking to have an onsite Consultant Radiologist.
About Queenstown Lakes District
The district has a permanent population of around 30,000 and a large visitor population. Lakes District Hospital comprises twelve general medical beds, five maternity beds, an Emergency Department and a small outpatient department. We have an onsite radiology unit with a CT scanner and a digital RIS / PACS system. Patients requiring urgent specialist care are transferred by road or helicopter to Invercargill or Dunedin. We work closely with St Johns, the Otago Trust Rescue Helicopter and the Dunedin ICU Retrieval Service.
Our radiology service offers MRI, interventional, CT and ultrasound imaging. Mammography is not offered.
Role Overview
The vacancy requires a Radiologist with a general scope of skills who can triage, protocol and report CT and X‑ray studies. As the sole radiologist on‑site you will work closely with the ED department and all radiology staff. You will be supported by a multidisciplinary team in Southland and Dunedin, and will have opportunities to work in Southland for fluoroscopy, US and MRI reporting, US / CT‑guided interventional procedures, and to share an on‑call roster covering both Lakes and Southland districts. Regular participation in regional MDMs and meetings is expected.

Benefits and Working Conditions
Salary is part of the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 (NZD $185,380) and Step 15 (NZD $267,980) per annum pro‑rata. Compensation for all call duties is added to the base salary. Part‑time applicants and requests for flexibility will be considered; however, all colleagues undertake a full share of call duties.
