Job description

Unique opportunity for an up-and-coming Project & Works Coordinator to join us and work in a dynamic and diverse military operational environment.

At Downer we plan, create and sustain. Downer is the leading provider of integrated services in Australia and New Zealand. Through trusted relationships and world leading insight we work closely with our customers to design, build and sustain assets, infrastructure, and facilities.

We currently have a 6‑month Fixed Term opportunity for a Project & Works Coordinator. Join our team and play a key role in coordinating and managing the successful execution of a wide range of works using project and work management disciplines from initiation through to completion. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

Spotless Facilities Services (a Downer company) delivers a range of Facilities Maintenance and Management Services to the New Zealand Defence Force.

Based at the Burnham Military Camp you will report to the Facilities Manager. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing the successful execution of a wide range of works using project and work management disciplines from initiation through to completion. This includes planning, coordinating, and managing resources, timelines, budgets, and stakeholders. The role ensures jobs are completed on time, safely, within scope, and on budget, while maintaining quality standards and fostering positive working relationships across all stakeholders.

The role will coordinate and manage a variety of works including (but not limited to) large works, packages of smaller works, singular works, high / low value works, quotable works, etc. If your mantra aligns with "no jobs too big or too small" and you are hands on, then you will enjoy the variety in this role.

Day‑to‑day you will be involved in ensuring programme, health & safety and quality objectives are met while managing resources including staff, plant, suppliers, subcontractors, and materials, together with identifying and managing project risks to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will work closely with the site management team to support the operational delivery of both projects and maintenance requirements. Your experience in an operational environment along with your ability to collaborate, a can‑do attitude and your flexibility will put you in good stead to deliver to the site management priorities.
