Pathologist - Anatomical - Medrecruit

Our client is looking for an experienced Anatomic Pathologist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with NZ’s largest and highly specialised community-based laboratory service.

In this role, you will be working between 40 and 50 hours per week. However, the actual hours of work will be negotiated with the Clinical Lead during the interview stage. You will work rostered hours to meet the requirements of the service as needed. On call may be required but is uncommon.

The Anatomic Pathology Service (APS) provides services to approximately 4,000 private specialists, private surgical hospitals and general practitioners with up to 500 histology specimens received per day, and a further 15-20 for non-gynaecological cytology.

The specimens cover a wide range of subspecialties in the areas of skin, gastroenterological, gynaecological, breast, head and neck, respiratory and urological pathology. This service also covers approximately one third of the national cervical screening programme. Gynecologic cytology is an option for this position but not obligatory. This role does not involve autopsies, which are under the auspices of the National Forensic Pathology Service.
