Within the core midwifery environment, no two days will be the same, and you will be involved with a range of midwifery practice.

You will be supporting lead maternity carers / caseloading midwives accessing our rural maternity unit who provide inpatient labour and birth.You will assist with : antenatal assessmentscaring for birthing people and their whanau in a postnatal environment.We have a women and whanau centered approach to our care and you will be making a real difference to the patient experience.This core midwife role would suit a Registered Midwife who is team-focused and who enjoys getting involved in a variety of tasks to ensure the very best care is provided at all times.Our ideal candidate will : possess excellent assessment skillshave a passion and focus for working with whanauenjoy providing postnatal care with compassion and kindnessbe an exceptional team player who has strong communication skillshave previous experience in supporting mothers with breastfeedingbe a Registered Midwife with a current APC for New Zealand.Benefits include the following : Family-friendly communityContinuous support for career developmentAccess to a range of retail discounts and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)About usWe consider ourselves to be very fortunate here at the Central Otago Maternity Unit.
