New Zealand Asset Protection Ltd has a full time opportunity for a Loss Prevention Specialist to join our Security team.

As a Loss Prevention Officer you will engage with customers, liaise regularly with appropriate employees to identify steps and systems to reduce all loss, monitor CCTV, conduct internal and external checks of the store and maintain up to date knowledge of current applicable legislation and loss prevention initiatives and methods.

The position is permanent, full time working an average of 35 hours per week on a rotating roster . We require security cover across all 7 days, and over all our trading hours (9am - 10.30pm), so rostered shifts will vary, however the roster will be set at least 3 weeks in advance.
The Role
The position will have an operational, people and a health and safety focus.
Reporting directly to the regional manager, the role involves regularly completing floor walks, monitoring CCTV footage, liaising regularly with employees, and handling all steps relating to the apprehension and processing of shop lifters.
You may assist in coordinating employee training in areas such as conflict resolution and emergency scenario training.
Ensuring all appropriate paperwork and record keeping is completed including preparing security reports for internal and external agencies.
About You
We are looking for someone that is driven to succeed in this role, that displays discretion, a positive attitude and the ability to build rapport with staff and customers.
Minimum 12 months Security / Loss Prevention experience, ideally in a retail environment
Current Certificate of Approval, or the ability to obtain one
Current First Aid certificate, or the ability to obtain one
Physically fit and able to fulfill the requirements of the role
Proven experience building positive relationships with people from all cultures and backgrounds
The ability to maintain a calming presence to customers and staff
Remain professional and have a high level of maturity
Someone with the flexibility to step in and work a range of shifts including weekends
The ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
