Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Chef to join our team at Lakes District Hospital, Queenstown. This is a permanent role working 36 hours per week, including weekend shifts. The ideal candidate is passionate about food service in a healthcare setting and able to thrive under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in accordance with dietary requirements and allergen protocols.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Establish and maintain quality control, assist with ordering and menu development.
- Perform general kitchen cleaning duties, including dish washing.
- Provide cover for annual and sick leave as needed.
Qualifications
At least 1 year of experience working as a chef in a healthcare kitchen.Food safety certificates (Unit Standard 167 & 168) or equivalent.Strong understanding of special diets and allergen management.Ability to thrive under pressure and be a team player.Willingness to work weekends and adapt to a dynamic environment.Familiarity with Saffron (menu management system) and Safe FoodPro.Knowledge of temperature procedures.Superior customer service skills.Hardworking, reliable, and friendly nature.Benefits & Perks
