Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.

Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.

About the Role

The National Coordinator provides emergency management coordination support to the Group Manager, Emergency Management & Business Continuity, contributing to the delivery of key EM services nationally, regionally, and at district level. You'll assist with planning and coordination activities, including scheduling meetings, workshops, and events, while maintaining accurate documentation, records, and databases. You'll also support internal and external communication efforts to ensure smooth and effective engagement across stakeholders.

About the Team / Service / Location

This role sits within the Health, Wellbeing, Safety & Organisational Resilience team in the People & Culture team and reports to the Group Manager Emergency Management and Business Continuity. You're confident using Microsoft Office tools (and ideally PowerBI), and bring excellent communication and customer service skills, along with a working knowledge of project environments and emergency response. Experience in government settings and formal project management training (e.g., PRINCE2) would be desirable.

  • Demonstrate planning, organising, attention to detail, well organised, able to complete tasks on time
  • Some experience in being in an emergency response situation
