We're looking for a curious, customer-oriented BI / Data Analyst to drive and support our Power BI roll out and really democratise access to insights.

You'll enjoy contributing across data governance, data ingestion and modelling in our Databricks data platform, and both doing and helping others to analyse data using tools like Power BI.Just some of the things you're responsible for : Data Platform Development & Governance : Ensure data is ingested, modeled, and governed effectively for analysis and reporting.

Maintain high standards of usability, stability, scalability, and security in the BI environment.Self-Service BI Support : Lead the rollout and support of self-service BI tools, develop and maintain platforms, provide training, and create technical documentation to empower users with data insights.Report & Dashboard Development : Design, create, and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extracts.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, perform testing, and handle ad-hoc data analysis.Bug Fixing & Maintenance : Identify and resolve bugs, perform regular system maintenance, and proactively seek opportunities to improve performance while reducing technical debt.Collaboration & Team Contribution : Participate in planning, stand-ups, and team meetings.

Contribute to work breakdowns and progress tracking for sprints and projects.Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with business users to understand their data needs, provide guidance on data structures and governance, and ensure tools align with strategic objectives.You'll need to have : A highly analytical problem solver with a customer-centered approach, focused on delivering simple, impactful solutions to meet user needs.Minimum 3 years of experience in a BI role with proven success designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions, including reports and dashboards using Power BI (experience with Tableau and SSRS is a plus).

Strong SQL proficiency, along with expertise in ETL / ELT processes, dimensional data modeling (Azure Databricks preferred), and data integration using tools like SSIS / ADF, APIs, or event-driven architectures.Experience with scripting languages such as Python (preferred) or PowerShell for automating tasks and enhancing BI solutions.Patience and empathy to coach and mentor users of self-service BI tools, helping them gain insights and build confidence in data-driven decision-making.A degree in computer science, information science, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with a background in financial services being advantageous.What you'll receive in return : A dynamic and collaborative culture with a central and modern office space and a team who enjoy working together and who are proud to be MTF'ers.Plenty of development opportunities, coaching and support.Competitive remuneration package which includes fully funded medical insurance, performance incentives, and flexible leave options and benefits.The opportunity to progress your career in Dunedin.
