Purapura Whetu – Christchurch, South Island
Be a part of an innovative service for parents and caregivers who require a kāinga that supports play‑focused strategies with tamariki aged 0 – 12 years. Are you passionate about providing a service that enhances the mana of whānau through whakapapa korero (learning pathways) and the sharing of taonga tuku iho (gifts handed down through whānau)?
The role focusses on supporting tangata whaiora and their whanau in the wider community to plan, set, and achieve goals to increase overall well‑being. This involves delivery of community support work with individual whaiora in the community and facilitation of group programme opportunities, both at Essex Street site and in the community.
Mo tatou / About us
Te Oriori is a kaupapa Māori service in Ōtautahi that supports the mental health and wellbeing of whānau with tamariki aged 0–12 years.
Guided by Purapura Whetū Trust, we walk alongside whānau across Waitaha, offering free support that nurtures wairua, tinana, and hinengaro through culture, connection, and aroha.
Our tamariki are taonga — born to thrive and have opportunities to develop gifts handed down from our tīpuna. Through our service we model compassion, connectedness, and nurturing with kai and unconditional aroha to whānau, wrapping them in korowai as they heal and become stronger.
