MASH Trust is looking for a compassionate and organised Home Coordinator to lead the day‑to‑day operations of our Youth Mental Health Respite home.

We’re Hiring : Home Coordinator – Youth Mental Health Respite

Location : Palmerston North, Manawatū

Employment Type : Full‑time, Tuesday – Saturday

About the Role

As a Home Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our youth respite home is a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment. You’ll coordinate the home’s daily operations, support a team of Community Support Workers (CSWs), and work closely with rangatahi, their whānau, and external agencies to ensure high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of CSWs to deliver consistent, trauma‑informed care.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic home environment.
  • Coordinate support plans and ensure they reflect the unique needs of each rangatahi.
  • Support rangatahi to engage in community, cultural, recreational, and educational activities.
  • Manage administrative tasks, documentation, and household supplies.
  • Be a key point of contact for whānau, Oranga Tamariki, CAMHS and other stakeholders.
  • What You’ll Bring

  • A strong understanding of youth development, trauma‑informed care, and mental health support.
  • Experience in residential or community‑based youth services.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • A full, clean NZ driver’s licence.
  • A relevant qualification in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4), Youth Work or willingness to work towards one.
