Amotai is Aotearoa’s supplier diversity intermediary, connecting Māori and Pasifika-owned businesses with buyers seeking goods, services, and works. We maintain a national directory of verified businesses and support buyers to diversify their supply chains. Amotai—meaning the swell in the tide—symbolises collective progress, driving sustainable business opportunities to grow a prosperous Auckland region and a more equitable New Zealand economy.
Amotai plays a critical role in creating equitable procurement opportunities for Māori and Pasifika businesses. This business development role is central to scaling Amotai’s reach and impact, ensuring more buyers are procuring from diverse suppliers and contributing to a fairer, more inclusive economy.

Qualifications & Expectations
A strategic thinker with a strong track record in successful business development and delivering on sales targets. Brings an appreciation of supplier diversity and the challenges and opportunities facing Māori and Pasifika businesses.
You’re confident operating at senior levels, with the ability to influence outcomes through clear, compelling communication. You have strong commercial skills that have enabled you to consistently deliver on growth targets. Skilled at networking, building trusted relationships and aligning commercial outcomes with social impact. You’re collaborative, data-informed, and driven by purpose, always looking for ways to grow opportunities sustainable opportunities for Amotai. You value tikanga and te reo Māori and integrate these into your mahi.
