The Opportunity

Do you have a passion for growing food and bringing people together? We’re looking for a Community Gardener to manage, maintain, and develop our vibrant urban food haven in Mount Roskill. This is a hands‑on role that combines gardening expertise with community engagement and education.

Our gardens include a greenhouse, food forest, and composting bins – all thriving spaces that promote sustainability, learning, and wellbeing.

In this role, you will :

• Manage and develop productive community gardens year‑round
• Grow fresh produce to support our Social Food Pantry and community kitchen
• Work alongside and guide volunteers in sustainable gardening practices
• Encourage participation, learning, and inclusion across the community
• Promote composting, soil health, and regenerative practices

This role is fixed term until the end of June 2026.

Part time role 20 hours per week.

We’re looking for someone who’s as comfortable getting their hands dirty as they are engaging with people.
