Job description

Technical Business Analyst (Perm, Fulltime, Remote)

Wych is an open financial data company that helps organisations access, share, and use customer financial data securely and compliantly—through fast, API-first, no-code / low-code solutions. We’re driven by curiosity, creativity, and the belief that bold ideas can shape the future. We work in a fast-paced, agile environment where no two days are the same. Whether we’re building new integrations with financial institutions, developing data insights tools, or ensuring regulatory compliance, our team is united by a shared passion for making a meaningful impact. If you’re looking for more than just a job—if you want to grow, contribute, and be part of something transformative—Wych is the place to do it.

The Role

We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst who can confidently bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery—capturing requirements with precision, safeguarding against scope creep, and managing stakeholder expectations with ease.

To hit the ground running, experience in open banking is essential. You’ll have a background in financial services and be comfortable operating as a solo Technical BA, driving clarity and momentum across projects. As we scale, a key responsibility will be to help build and mature our BA / TA practices.

This role calls for a sharp analytical mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and familiarity with financial services data standards such as CDR, CDS, FAPI, and related frameworks.

We’re flexible on location and welcome applicants working remotely from New Zealand or Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage stakeholders (internal and external) to elicit and define business, functional, and regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret Open Banking standards and translate them into actionable technical and business documentation.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Developers to support backlog grooming, user story creation, and acceptance criteria definition.
  • Lead workshops with clients to understand existing systems and propose solutions for data access, consent, and compliance workflows.
  • Support conformance testing by validating requirements coverage and test traceability.
  • Document current and future state process flows, system interactions, and service models.
  • Identify risks and dependencies and support their mitigation across product and delivery teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices and artefacts.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in financial services within open banking, CDR, or related regulatory domains.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, data modelling, and schema standards (e.g. OpenAPI, JSON schema).
  • Experience working with technical teams using Agile methodologies (Scrum / Kanban).
  • Comfortable navigating Australian and New Zealand Open Banking regulations and standards.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart or similar.
  • Ability to create clear, concise, and structured documentation (e.g. user stories, sequence diagrams, process maps).
  • Please note

Applications will close on the 3rd December 2025 with interviews commencing from 9th December 2025. Any queries on this role can be directed to Laura (021 502 338 or
