Job Description Oaks Auckland Hotel, proudly operated by Minor Hotels and owned by Mulpha , is looking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to lead our sales function and drive commercial performance across corporate, government, MICE, and leisure markets.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the sales direction of a high-profile CBD property while contributing to the broader growth of the Oaks New Zealand portfolio.
As Director of Sales, you will take ownership of revenue generation through proactive business development, key account management, strategic planning, stakeholder collaboration, and market positioning.
You will play a crucial role in strengthening our presence within the Auckland market while leading high-value initiatives that maximise occupancy, revenue, and long-term commercial success.
Responsibilities Include : Developing, leading, and executing strategic sales plans aligned to market trends and business needs Managing a balanced portfolio of new business acquisition and existing account growth Driving corporate, government, MICE, and leisure business to maximise revenue and occupancy Proactively analysing competitor activity, market conditions, and emerging opportunities Representing the property at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, agencies, partners, and key stakeholders Collaborating closely with Marketing, Revenue, and Hotel Operations to optimise commercial outcomes Providing clear communication to internal and external stakeholders across all departments Delivering high-level reporting, insights, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making Qualifications Successful applicants will require the following skills, experience, and qualifications : Proven sales leadership experience in hospitality, tourism, or a closely related industry Strong understanding of corporate, government, and MICE market segments Demonstrated ability to secure new business, nurture key accounts, and build long-term partnerships Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and results-driven motivation Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a proactive, solutions-focused approach Confidence representing the hotel in high-visibility industry and client environments This is your chance to work within a property backed by two powerhouse organisations - Minor Hotels , a global hotel operator with a portfolio of over 560 properties, and Mulpha , a leading investment group with a strong commitment to hospitality excellence.
