About the Role
As an Apprentice Heavy Diesel Mechanic, this role will give you both formal studies and practical experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, working within Mechanical Maintenance team at Lyttleton Port Company.
You will be fully trained in all aspects of repairs and maintenance of a wide variety of heavy diesel-powered plant, ranging from wheel loaders, bulldozers, straddle carriers, and forklifts. With a passion for mechanics, you will enjoy nutting out problems with your hands. You will have strong communication skills and thrive working independently or as part of a team.
You will have obtained a pre-apprenticeship qualification (New Zealand Certificate in Automotive Engineering Level 3) hold a current, clean driver's licence and have basic computer literacy skills.
