Senior Solicitor / Associate- Litigation

Our Wellington client is looking for a new person to join the litigation team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high performing team which acts for a wide range of international and NZX listed clients, public sector agencies, privately owned entities and individuals. The team is regularly involved in high-profile and complex proceedings before the High Court, appellate courts and specialist tribunals and complaints bodies. The team provides the full suite of litigation, mediation and other advocacy services. We also regularly brief cases to the independent bar.

Some of our team’s notable cases include litigation before the High Court arising out of the International Convention Centre roof fire and managing a series of judicial review cases before the High Court and Court of Appeal for an international company operating a public facility in New Zealand. The team regularly acts in a range of contractual, defamation, estate, intellectual property, real property and tort law cases. We also have a significant practice managing professional liability claims before the High Court and complaints bodies involving accountants, construction professionals, lawyers, local authorities and real estate agents. The team are highly regarded for its breadth of disputes work, industry leading advice and impact.

Could this be the role for you?

You will bring a few years’ experience in a civil litigation role (ideally 3-5PQE) and will be motivated to expand and build upon this. You will be joining a supportive and welcoming team, who will afford you ample opportunity to dive into interesting work from day one. The team are involved in a range of commercial, insurance and public law disputes, so foundational experience in one or more of these areas would be an advantage. You will bring a pragmatic and professional approach to your work and will enjoy working in a collaborative team.
