Senior Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon – Surgery-Focused Role | Auckland

Take the lead in surgery, shape the future of veterinary care across Auckland with VetPartners.

We’re searching for an experienced and confident Veterinary Surgeon to anchor a primarily surgical role at Abbotts Way Veterinary Clinic in Remuera, Auckland. With a purpose-built surgical suite and a high-performing team, you’ll have everything you need to deliver outstanding results from routine procedures to complex surgical cases.

As part of the VetPartners network, you’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with clinics across Auckland on challenging surgical cases. This is a growth-focused role that would suit a vet with advanced surgical interests including orthopaedics

We welcome candidates who hold surgical certificates or memberships and / or have a special interest and advanced surgical skillset. Your expertise will help shape how we care for patients with complex needs across our wider network.

About the Role

Full-time or part-time position, with flexible working days and hours
100% small animal caseload with a strong surgical bias
Routine surgeries, soft tissue procedures, orthopaedics, and dental work
Scope to develop an inter-clinic surgical referral service
Supportive and collaborative team
No Sundays, after-hours, public holidays, or on-call work

About You

You’re a confident veterinary surgeon with at least 10 years' experience, a passion for advancing surgical care, and a collaborative mindset. You’re also comfortable with consults and happy to include a balance of these in your day to day (especially as we grow the scale of your surgical role) , but surgery is where you thrive. You will be confident in a wide range of surgical procedures, including more advanced soft-tissue surgery and ideally orthopaedics.

You’ll hold a New Zealand-recognised veterinary qualification and bring a commitment to clinical excellence and teamwork. Surgical Memberships and / or Certificates would be advantageous
